RULES

Sportsmanship, fair play, and safety are essential pillars of any sporting activity. They promote respectful players, encourage healthy competition, and ensure a positive environment for everyone involved. Upholding these values not only enhances the spirit of the game but also fosters friendships and lifelong skills both on and off the court. Embracing these principles leads to a rewarding and enjoyable experience for athletes of all ages.

VISION PICKLEBALL GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT – DROP IN

Welcome to VISION Pickleball Club!

Let’s keep the vibes fun, friendly, and fair for everyone 😊

Here’s how we roll so everyone has a great time:

GETTING ON THE COURT

  • Please check in and pay at the Pickleball Desk before you step on the court (it helps us keep everything running smoothly!).

  • If nobody’s at the Pickleball Desk, our friends at the Badminton Desk are happy to take your payment.

  • We accept cash, debit, tap, and e-transfer – super easy!

CALLING THE SCORE

  • Before every serve, the server (or someone on their team) says the full score out loud (all three numbers).

  • It lets everyone know the rally is starting and keeps us all on the same page.

  • If the wrong score is called, anyone can stop play before the return and we’ll just re-serve with the correct score – no big deal!

WHEN YOUR GAME ENDS

  • As soon as your game is over: all four players kindly leave the court together.

  • Please be aware of how many games you have played in a row and be fair to allow everyone to play to play equally

  • That way the next group can jump right in and nobody has to wait longer than necessary. Thanks for helping the rotation flow!

BALLS

  • Bring your own ball, please!

  • We play with yellow indoor balls here (Onix Fuse is everyone’s favorite).

  • We sell them at the desk for a great price if you need one.

  • If your whole group agrees to use a different indoor ball, that’s totally cool too.

PLAYING WITH EVERYONE (Because It’s Drop-In Love!)

  • We’re one big pickleball family of all skill levels – that’s what makes it fun!

  • If a group of 3 needs a 4th, please jump in and play rather than wait for the “perfect” match-up.

  • Try to hit to both players, not just the newer one – let’s keep it sporting and enjoyable for all.

  • No coaching or unsolicited advice on court unless someone asks (we have pros for that!).

  • Cheer each other on, laugh, and leave the court smiling.

LINE CALLS

  • If the ball lands out on your side, please call it out clearly.

  • Never make line calls for the opponents’ side and don’t ask spectators for their opinion.

  • Honor system = good karma!

KITCHEN (Non-Volley Zone) RULES

  • You’re welcome to politely call a kitchen fault if you clearly see it.

  • If there’s any doubt or disagreement, we just replay the point – easy and keeps things friendly.

  • Best policy? Police yourself and stay honest. Those bright yellow lines are hard to miss!

WALKING AROUND THE COURTS

  • Please wait until the rally is over before walking behind an active court.

  • If you arrive as a pair and there’s a group of 3 warming up, one of you should join them right away so you can start playing sooner.

  • Keep the language family-friendly – no swearing out loud, please!

WAITING RACKS (Paddle Saddle System)

  • When the racks are in use, please don’t rearrange paddles or jump the line. The system works great when we all follow it – thanks!

Follow these simple guidelines and we’ll all have an absolute blast on the courts. See you out there – paddles ready and smiles on!
